Active coordination of Child Find with LEAs
Onsite direct support and delivery of specially designed instruction
Comprehensive administration of the EC process
Active support of parents in securing resources for which their children qualify
Meet the Team
Richard Koenig, Founder & CEO
Rich Koenig is a 40-year veteran educator as both teacher and administrator. His BA is from Colgate and his Master's degrees from Bucknell and Duke. He is certified in both Carolinas as a principal and teacher in both English and EC. After a 10-year career in sales with AT&T, he returned to his first vocational love of teaching and coaching. He has spent the last 5 years designing and implementing NCDPI Approved EC Programs in the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility setting. He is excited to bring this particular skill set to the underrepresented Non-Public School sector. He is equally excited about the prospect of working directly with families of special needs children to assure their equitable treatment in all instances.
Jessica Barkley, EC Compliance Officer & Advocate
Jessica Barkley has an undergraduate degree in English from NC State University and a Master's degree in Education from Arizona State University. She has worked in a variety of educational settings from preschool to college. Jessica ran the tutoring center for the NC State athletic department where she trained and managed tutors and worked in collaboration with disability services to meet the academic needs of NC State's special needs student athletes. She worked as an EC teacher in Moore Co. Schools in the Multiple Disabilities classroom and as a resource teacher in the Elementary and Middle School settings. For the past 6 years she has worked as the EC Compliance Officer for 4 PRTF facilities, maintaining a NC DPI EC program and advocating for the appropriate placement and services for children with behavioral and academic challenges. She has extensive experience helping parents navigate the EC process in the public school unit and works as an EC advocate for students in foster care placement.

Courtney Moon, Director EC Services
Courtney Moon is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a B.S in Special Education; General Curriculum. She has served as an ECT at the middle school level, BST at the middle and high school level, as well as working with private and PRTF school settings to develop NCDI approved EC programs. Courtney is a yearly presenter at the NC EC conference, in which she specializes in behavior interventions and data collection. In the summer of 2021, she assisted with curriculum development and pacing for Moore County Schools OCS. She has additonally worked with private schools to gain accredidation for their institutions.

Brad Hunt, EC Specialist
Brad Hunt attended Appalachian State University and graduated with his Bachelor’s in Special Education and Master’s in Reading Education. Brad attended private Christian Schools from elementary to high school. He is honored to be part of this team and help ensure that every student has the tools they need to succeed and help support parents in their child’s journey.

Dillon Moon, Instructional Specialist, Sales
Dillon Moon is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a Bachelor's in Careers and Technical Education. Dillon has served underfunded and hig risk youth throughout his career and brings a wealth of knowledge from other backgrounds he has been a part of along the way!
